Awarded for excellence

Our sustainability credentials have also been extensively recognized. Back in 2000, Cognis received Germany’s Wöhler Award for our alkyl polyglucosides, APG^®, a much vaunted range of surfactants manufactured from renewable raw materials. Also provided from nature’s store are our Disponil^® AFX surfactant systems which the Confederation of German Industry (BDI) honored with its 2006 Environment Award.

In 2003, Cognis received Malaysia’s Hibiscus Award, in 2004 we garnered Brazil’s Reis Magos and Ireland’s Environment Award, and in 2008 we were honored again with Thailand’s Best Employer Award on Labor Relations and Welfare by the local Ministry of Labor. In 2007 we received Indonesia’s Zero Accident Award. The US site in Mauldin was honored in 2008 with the Environmental Excellence Award from the Western Carolina Regional Sewer Authority for its wastewater treatment.
