Social Responsibility
The initiative of fostering social and voluntary actions that improve the quality of life is one of the reasons leading Cognis to invest in social projects. Meet the main projects of the company.
Our social projects:
NGO “Guri na Roça” (“Kids at the Crop”)
In 1999, Cognis created the “Kids at the Crop Project”. In 2001, the project advanced to a non-governmental organization (NGO). Currently, the Kids at the Crop Project supports around 80 children and adolescents from Jacareí and develops activities such as gardening, English and computer classes, as well as handcrafts, workshops for professional preparation and values like ethics and citizenship.
Cognis Choir
Created in 1994, the choir uses music as a tool to develop the citizenship and promote education, culture and socialization. The children and adolescents of Jacareí take part in singing and body expression classes, and present themselves in several shows. The project is led by the NGO named Sock-Filled Ball (Bola de Meia).
Young Apprentice
The Young Apprentice Project invests in the professional training of young people. Through it, teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 are selected and enrolled at SENAI (National Service for Industrial Apprenticeship) and hired by Cognis.
ASPAD
The “Parents and Down Syndrome Friends Association” (ASPAD) is an NGO that integrates, promotes and guides people with Down Syndrome. Cognis supports the ASPAD giving people with Down the opportunity to work through the wrapping of the Panorama Cognis Magazine.
